Samokov is celebrating the town’s holiday on august 21st, the day of St. Simeon Samokovsky. Special events will be taking place during the entire week, starting from Monday, 15th.
According to tradition, the festivities start Monday with a church service for the Temple of the Metropolitan Church of the Assumption.
The program continues with a variety of cultural, sports and children's activities.
The festival "Cinema under the stars" starts on august 16 th with the special participation of director Niki Iliev. He will present the Bulgarian film Return 2. Three more evenings with wonderful films follow: Men's Academy, Summer Camps and Hedgehog War, respectively on august 17th, 18th and 20th.
On Thursday, august 18th everyone can enjoy Vasil Petrov's Evening at the Museum and concert. Also participating are the most popular jazz musicians - Angel Zaberski on piano, Boris Taslev on double bass, Stoyan Yankulov-Stundji on percussion instruments and Venko Georgiev on saxophone.
A concert featuring Virgo, Emil TRF and Atanas Kolev will delight us on Friday.
On august 21st the culmination of the holiday week will be a concert with Lyubo Kirov and Raina, together with MFG Gudlevo. The program ends with fire works.
A tourist train will travel throughout the week for the delight of the little kids.
