Ten tips for cleaning your home like a pro from the Housekeeping team

One of the key teams ensuring the impeccable stay of our guests is the Housekeeping team.

Now is the perfect time to take care of the cleanliness and comfort of our own homes and here are some tips from them how to do it as professionals

1. Every project begins with a plan, including the cleaning at home.

Make a plan what room you will begin with. Organise your tasks. This will save you time and prevent you from repetition. Now that we are at home most of the time you can make a list of all cleaning tasks that need to be done. Spare them 15 min a day and write off the completed ones. In this way you won’t have to spend the whole weekend cleaning as you’ll have finished with the majority of the tasks by then.

2. Remove all clutter

When the housekeeping is cleaning the rooms they first remove everything unnecessary – the trash, the bed linen, towels, etc. Do this at home. Remove any clutter to gain an easy access to the whole area.

3. Start cleaning from the top to the bottom

Always begin cleaning from the top and move down. Dust falls down and in that way you won’t have to go over already cleaned surfaces.

4. Open the windows and let your home breath.

When you are cleaning it’s always best to keep the windows open. This will help with the ventilation in the room, especially when using chemicals. Also the details are more easily spotted on natural daylight.

5. Use the cleaning chemicals as prescribed

Be careful when using cleaning products. Never mix them and use as per the instructions on the label.

6. Let the chemicals do the work.

Although scrubbing vigorously might seem as a stress relief in times of family quarantine, leave this to the chemicals. Let them for some time on the surface and they will do the job for you.

7. The toothbrush is your secret weapon.

The hidden corners won’t be an obscene any more with an old toothbrush.

8. Don’t forget the furniture.

We often focus more on cleaning the floors or the hard surfaces but don’t forget the furniture too. Make sure you vacuumed them regularly. This will also expand their lifetime as in time dust can harm the textile.

9. Don’t forget the light bulbs.

Make sure you home is bright in the evening too. Don’t forget to clean the light bulbs but ensure they are turned off and cooled down.

10. Take care of your helpers.

Taking care of the cleaning devices is as important. Don’t forget to check regularly your vacuum cleaner and its brushed to ensure it works efficiently. Also remember to drain any water from the iron once you have finished.
